Meet The Neighborhood Vets

For more than 40 years, this little brick clinic on the corner has been part of the Washington Park community—a place where generations of families have brought pets for care, comfort, and good health. In 2024, the practice entered a new chapter under local, women-owned leadership. Though under new ownership, they plan to  carry on its long-loved neighborhood roots, while thoughtfully elevating the medicine, services, and experience pets receive today.


Now reintroducing the clinic as The Neighborhood Vets, formerly Washington Park Veterinary Clinic, the team is investing deeply in modern diagnostics, expanded treatment capabilities, and a more accessible approach to everyday and same-day care. The goal: a welcoming, community-grounded practice with the level of medicine that pet parents feel confident trusting.

Stepping through the door feels personal and relaxed—friendly greetings, calming handling, treats, and staff trained to make even nervous pets feel at ease. Dr. Kelsey Davies holds a Low Stress Handling® Silver Certification and is a Cat Friendly Veterinarian, and these philosophies guide every appointment. Gentle guidance, considerate body language, slower movements, and patience turn veterinary visits into something far less intimidating for both pets and the families who love them.

The Neighborhood Vets team offers comprehensive preventive and sick-pet care, including more advanced internal medicine support, diagnostics, and same-day appointments whenever possible.

Board-certified specialists visit the practice for cardiology, orthopedics, internal medicine, and advanced soft tissue surgery. This provides your pets access to expert-level care without the need to travel across the city or to an unfamiliar clinic.
